Model 800-C & 800-VSCR Flat Belt Feeders

FLAT BELT FEEDERS

STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS

FEEDER FRAME (STRUCTURE)

Heavy structural channels. 8" in depth, with tubular cross braces. Standard feeder length is 6'-O" (ctr.-to-ctr. of pulleys). Alternate lengths of 4'-0". 5'-0", and 8'-o" are pre-designed, and are readily available. Standard belt widths are 18, 24, 30, and 36 inches. Special lengths and belt widths are available upon request. See Table A.

PULLEYS AND LAGGING

Head pulley and tail pulley are 10" diameter. Pulleys are heavy, all steel, welded type construction, individually turned to ensure concentricity with the bore and crowned to improve belt centering. The entire face of the pulley is machined. Pulleys are equipped with Taper-Lock hubs and bushings. The head (drive) pulley is lagged with 3 ply, "Ruff-Top" rubber lagging.

IDLERS

Idlers are MARCO Series MIS - 4-1/2" dia. rolls, with pre- lubricated ball bearings which require no further lubrication The flat carrier idlers are closely spaced on 6" centers.

BELT TAKE-UP

Screw type, acid cleaned and plated, providing 6" adjustment at the  tail pulley.

FEEDER BELT

Special belt specifications are available upon request.

BELT WIPER (AT HEAD PULLEY)

Adjustable, rubber-bladed, squeegee type, with spring loaded mounting.

LOADING HOPPER

Heavy plate construction, 9-1/4" deep, with diverging sides to relieve material friction in direction of flow, thus minimizing wear and material leakage. Heavy rubber flashing is secured by formed, continuous, clamps providing easy adjustment - punching of the flashing is eliminated. Specially formed hopper sides and flashing arrangement provide excellent seal at the beltline. Hopper has punched flanges at the top for suspended mounting from overhead bin, or tunnel ceiling-Heavy structural legs connect the hopper to the feeder frame.

ADJUSTABLE STRIKE-OFF GATE

Manually adjustable to set the desired depth of the material burden. Indexing holes and pin provide secure positioning at frequent increments of height. Special "wear edges" are provided at the bottom of the gate - the material contact edge - to reduce wear. The gate assembly slides fore and aft, along the hopper flanges, allowing it to be positioned to suit the length of feed opening. Adjustable wing plates allow the gate to seal against the diverting hopper sides in any position.

DISCHARGE HOOD

Mounts on front end of loading hopper, preventing side spillage of material at the head pulley. Rubber flashing contours feeder belt around the radius of the pulley. Hood confines and centers material burden at the discharge end and aids dust control. Hinged Clean-Out Panel is standard.

FEEDER DRIVE

Drive includes AGMA Class II, shaft mounted, helical gear, speed reducer (gears are enclosed and running in oil), driver and driven sheaves and vee belts. Drive components are selected to meet the power and belt speed requirements indicated by Table "B".

DRIVE GUARD

Expanded metal in rugged frame. Allows visibility of vee belt drive, while affording the necessary protection - may be easily removed.

MOTOR MOUNT

Mounts integrally with gear reducer. Permits easy vee belt tensioning.
